She earned a Master’s degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Washington, where she studied Filipino history, language, and politics.
In her free time, you can find Lauren reading, traveling, trying to find natural bodies of water to swim in, or struggling in beginner hip-hop classes.

“My superpower is timing the cooking of several dishes simultaneously so that they’re all hot and ready at the same time. I’m also good at predicting the plots of TV shows and movies — sometimes so much so that the people I watch with get mad at me!”
