About reimagine collective

reimagine collective partners with nonprofits, foundations, public agencies, coalitions, and movement leaders to strengthen strategy, evaluation, storytelling, and organizational learning in ways that advance equity and social change.

We're growing our network of evaluation consultants and are looking for thoughtful, collaborative evaluators to join our roster of subcontractors. This is not a full-time position. Instead, you'll have opportunities to collaborate on a variety of partner projects as needs arise.

Who We’re Looking For

We're looking for an evaluator who is collaborative, curious, values-driven, community-driven and excited about helping organizations share the impact of their work.

The ideal candidate brings experience in evaluation, applied research, storytelling, and organizational learning and is comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data. You enjoy listening to community members and stakeholders, identifying patterns and insights, and translating complex information into findings that are clear, useful, and actionable.

You understand that evaluation is about asking meaningful questions, creating opportunities for reflection and learning, and helping organizations understand what is changing, why it matters, and what they can do next.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of program evaluations, needs assessments, and learning initiatives.

  • Support the development of evaluation plans, logic models, theories of change, and measurement frameworks.

  • Design qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, including surveys, interview guides, and focus group protocols.

  • Conduct interviews, focus groups, observations, and other data collection activities.

  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to identify themes, patterns, findings, and insights.

  • Translate data and findings into clear, accessible reports, presentations, data visualizations, and other partner deliverables.

  • Support participatory and community-centered approaches that meaningfully engage people most impacted by the programs and issues being evaluated.

  • Facilitate meetings, learning sessions, sensemaking conversations, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Collaborate with project leads and other team members to develop recommendations that are practical and responsive to partner needs.

  • Support project management by tracking timelines, deliverables, and project tasks.

  • Contribute to proposals, knowledge products, and other business development efforts as opportunities arise.

  • Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a remote, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in evaluation, applied research, organizational learning, storytelling, or a related field.

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, government, community-based organizations, coalitions, or movement-building initiatives.

  • Experience using culturally responsive, participatory, or community-centered approaches to evaluation and research.

  • Experience working alongside BIPOC communities; experience with AANHPI communities is strongly preferred.

  • Experience developing surveys, interview guides, focus group protocols, or other data collection tools.

  • Experience conducting interviews, focus groups, or other qualitative data collection.

  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and/or quantitative data

  • Experience with qualitative or quantitative analysis software and survey platforms.

  • Ability to translate complex data and findings into clear, compelling, and accessible stories for diverse audiences.

  • Experience developing theories of change, logic models, evaluation frameworks, or learning agendas.

  • Strong facilitation, writing, communication, organization, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary remote team.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, community, and social justice.

  • Ability to travel occasionally, as needed.

  • Access to your own computer, reliable internet connection, and remote workspace.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data visualization and translating findings into engaging, accessible formats.

  • Experience evaluating advocacy, organizing, systems change, leadership development, or movement-building initiatives.

  • Experience conducting evaluation or research in languages beyond English.

  • Experience supporting proposal development or evaluation project scoping.

Our Values

We're looking for people who:

  • Believe communities are experts in their own experiences and should help shape how impact is understood and evaluated.

  • Approach evaluation with humility, curiosity, and a learning mindset.

  • Understand that stories, lived experience, and community knowledge are important forms of evidence alongside quantitative data.

  • Care about making evaluation useful and accessible.

  • Are creative in helping organizations understand, measure, learn from, and communicate their impact.

  • Welcome feedback while confidently contributing their own perspective and expertise.

  • Thrive in collaborative environments where everyone contributes to the learning process.

  • Are excited to build meaningful relationships with teammates, partners, and communities.

To Apply

Please submit:

  • Resume

  • Cover letter — A short introduction about yourself, what draws you to reimagine collective, and why you're interested in joining our roster of evaluation consultants

  • Two to three samples of relevant evaluation, research, or learning work. Examples may include evaluation reports, briefs, presentations, data visualizations, evaluation frameworks, surveys, or other related products.

  • 2 references

We especially encourage applications from individuals whose lived experiences reflect the diverse communities our partners serve, including AANHPI and other BIPOC communities.

We're excited to build relationships with evaluators who share our commitment to thoughtful, community-centered evaluation and who want to help organizations learn, strengthen their work, and tell meaningful stories about their impact.
