Elaine Andres has been a member of reimagine since 2021, supporting community-based organizations in scaling their impact through interdisciplinary research and narrative strategy. She has worked across higher education, nonprofits, and startups — honing her ability to navigate diverse organizational landscapes and foster collaboration across sectors.

Outside of her work with reimagine, she is a Panda Express Postdoctoral Fellow in Asian American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a former American Council of Learned Societies Leading Edge Fellow. Her writing has appeared in the Journal for Asian American Studies, AAPI Nexus, Smithsonian Magazine, and PBS American Experience. 

In her free time, Elaine can be found walking her dog, making pottery, and making music.

What inspires you to do the work that you do every day?

“I’m inspired and made hopeful by movement histories and all the places I see people connecting and organizing today — in the classroom, churches, workers’ centers, film screenings, art exhibits, the streets, at doors...no matter where and how people show up, I get inspired by the collective vision and want to find more ways to make it a reality.”
